The European Schengen Area
The last post discussed the issuance of a sort of generalized visa which is called the Schengen Visa which eliminates the need to obtain separate visas for all the countries that are to be visited. This makes it less stressful for the traveler and also cuts back on the cost of obtaining such. In-depth, the Schengen is a group of European states which is composed of 15 countries namely; Austria, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxemburg, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the Netherlands. All non-Europeans must produce documents that justify the conditions and purpose of their intended stay along with proof that they have ample financial resources to fuel their travels. The only visa required would be the country of entry and once upon exit from the area. There are several firms which offer travel insurance for visitors to the area, but fraudsters are warned that there are very stiff penalties in term of cash and jail time if caught so forget about insurance fraud.
