Travel agencies offer services and packages that have our convenience in mind and we love them. They allow us to worry less of all the preparations, bookings and other special arrangements should there be any for us and we sleep soundly thinking all has been taken care of, or has it? According to a study by the BBC it was found that 10 million people in Britain alone book travel arrangements with travel agents and that most do think safe with their arrangements.
Well they shouldn’t be, for as they found out, many of these agents are not covered by the regular watchdog agencies but rather by people from within the Travel industry themselves. This means that they are policing themselves without the regulation of the government and other regular policing force. Well, not all of them, just half, the other half being members of reputable trade groups and associations. The lesson for all travelers, even those outside the UK is to ask questions and the right ones.
